Former CBS News correspondent Sharyl Attkisson was much too polite when she said recently that she resigned after twenty years at the network  because CBS was becoming “too shy” about honestly covering and challenging the Obama administration.

By contrast, Ms. Attkisson pointed out to FNC’s Howard Kurtz that she had never encountered comparable shyness on the part of her network or her CBS colleagues when it came to “aggressively” pursuing stories about the George W. Bush administration while many allegations about Barack Hussein Obama’s administration were never aired.

Good grief!  Could that be true? 

As she explained, when a story that could negatively impact Obama came up, “It never runs.  Or it dies the death of a thousand cuts, as some of us say. If it’s something they don’t want, it will be changed and revised and shortened and altered so much that it’s a shadow of its former self if it does air.”

With all due respect to Sharyl–and she deserves a great deal of respect for finally bailing on the liberal-leftist network–where has she been the last five years?

CBS News admitted last August that her personal computer had been hacked by “an unauthorized, external, unknown party on multiple occasions,” a mysterious hacking she had long suspected, but she didn’t resign until March 10 of this year.  Granted, the network had refused to let her resign earlier but she could have outed CBS’ partisan censorship policies in the interim, no?

And, countless blockbuster stories have been censored, blocked, or scrapped by the powers-that-be at CBS as well as by their fellow mainstream media cohorts, censorship that could reasonably be characterized as gross, journalistic malpractice–if not criminal misconduct since their failure to report with a fair and balanced approach often encouraged and concealed criminal activities.

A few years ago, I watched a television commentator, probably purely in the interests of affability, extend hopes that his audience would have and enjoy ”a happy Good Friday,” a wish equivalent to hoping Jews would have a fun Holocaust observation or that Ukrainians enjoy reflecting on Russia’s seizure of Crimea. 

Good Friday is only “good” considering what happened over two thousand years ago on Calvary or Golgotha, the site where Jesus Christ was crucified and in the context of what Christians believe happened three days later on what is now called Easter Sunday when He was resurrected from the dead. 

As a child, I was always bewildered as to why the Son of God endured the ignominy of public humiliation and torture and why He allowed Himself to be strapped to a cross like a common criminal and permitted Roman soldiers to pound spikes into His hands and feet when He could have simply vaporized His captors at will and zapped Pontius Pilate and Herod Antipas into fiery oblivion. 

Later, as a rebellious, Catholic adolescent, I was equally befuddled by restrictions on what I could and not do on Good Friday such as attending church services and suffering through the onerous burden of being silent between the hours of 12 and 3 PM, the time generally considered the period  following Christ’s condemnation and scourging when He hung, nailed on a cross.

Atheistic liberal-leftists have been warring on religion, God, Christianity, and Christmas for decades and, having succeeded in large part in banning God from public discourse, in mocking Christianity, and in desecrating Christmas, they’ve lately been focusing on attacking Easter.

Christians celebrate Easter Sunday as the central feast of Christianity, the day of the resurrection of Jesus Christ which in Western Christianity marks the end of Lent, a 40-day period of fasting and penance in preparation for Easter.  Eggs, bonnets, parades, and bunnies long ago supplanted the true significance of the Easter observance but the atheists are hardly finished with their efforts to destroy Christian traditions.

As with most radicals, lib-leftists know to start with small fires in anticipation of igniting greater sociological conflagrations in the future. 

Thus, to cite just two of many absurdities, the little town of Munson, Ohio was forced by agitators to scrap its “Easter Egg Hunt” in favor of a more politically correct  “Spring Egg Hunt” and a sophomore in Seattle was forbidden to call little plastic eggs filled with jellybeans she wanted to present to third graders “Easter eggs” unless she re-named them “spring spheres.”

However, the concerted attack on Easter isn’t simply a name-game and the forces of atheistic negativism are now taking their war down to whole, new levels.

On Wednesday, while insisting he was not comparing Barack Hussein Obama to Jesus Christ, the reliably ridiculous Reverend Al Sharpton did just that on the “Tom Joyner Morning Show.”

Sharpton, who has been aptly described as ”a racial arsonist”, oddly related President Obama to the meaning of Easter by saying, “I think that the message is, no matter what the world may do to unfairly [sic], no matter how your crucified, nailed to the cross at home, or in your personal relationships, or on the job that you can rise if you don’t lose yourself during the hard times and the challenges.”

he reverend with no known flock aside from his fellow black racists went on to nonsensically explain, “The story of Jesus on the cross, no matter what they humiliated him with, no matter how they mocked him he took it, because he knew he could rise. And the story of Easter and my message for this Easter session is no matter what unearned suffering you go through, that if you know you can rise above it, don’t become like the diseases that you fight.”

He added that, (not in any way drawing a Jesus comparison!), “President Obama . . . he’s been able to rise politically again.”

As a hesitant world traveler who usually loves it when he gets there but hates the process of getting there, I was a bit shocked by what my wife and I witnessed during our recent Viking Rhine River Cruise which brought us to four major European cities over the course of eight days.

Accustomed to the litter and general filth and disrepair in much of New York City, what initially struck us about the cities we toured in Holland, Germany, France, and Switzerland were not the huge windmills or the boisterous brauhauses or the scenic vineyards or the plethora of new public buildings.

We were duly impressed by those features in Amsterdam, Cologne, Strasbourg, and Basel as well as in less famous towns and villages and we enjoyed viewing their respective ancient cathedrals, anachronistic castles, and memorials.

However, what was most striking about the places we toured was the apparent near-perfection of the infrastructure, the absence of street and highway litter and potholes and, especially, the extent of their exuberant growth and national vitality as evidenced by the ubiquity of construction cranes busily constructing impressive new government structures.

Despite Europe’s economic problems, Europeans seem to be thriving, building, prospering while America is on the skids and going broke in part because they are inveterate, ungrateful leeches and we are consummate dupes. 

Literal blood-sucking, segmented worms known as leeches can function as medicinal anti-coagulant agents.  Supposedly independent nations that suck the life blood from countries in dire straits have no recognizably useful functions.

I’ve often observed that so-called “stars”–whether starring in the sports world, the entertainment world, or the political world seem unable to grasp the obvious reality that stardom virtually never confers wisdom and even less often confers classiness. 

How else can we explain grossly intemperate behaviors by sport heroes, entertainment idols, and political victors who flout accepted standards of conduct and legality other than that they firmly believe they are so far above those standards and legalities, so far removed from rules governing the hoi polloi, so deeply imbued  with an assumed wisdom bolstered by irrational hubris that they are entitled to do and say anything they damned well please?

Aldon Smith, linebacker for the San Francisco 49ers, is only the latest in a very long line of celebrities, a shameful line including Justin Bieber and Barack Hussein Obama, who haven’t learned the extremely valuable lesson that they may be “stars” in their chosen fields but are severely lacking in almost everything else. . . . Now that Lindsay Lohan has shockingly fessed up that she’s not really a virgin and has written out a list of (male) Hollywood stars she has bedded as of  2013, can we still believe that Lindsay is honest and trustworthy?  Her married and unwed (male) lovers allegedly include Justin Timberlake, Colin Farrell, Zach Efron, the late Heath Ledger and 32 others.  Fortunately for everyone, the superslut’s list didn’t include Justin Bieber or else America might lose its collective lunch–as well as all respect for her!

The fate of the nation is up for grabs in 2016.  Some have speculated that the GOP will lose due in part to the Republican’s visceral hatred of blacks as seen by their efforts to make black people more self-sufficient and their relentless war on women by advocating to save them from bloodthirsty abortionists like Kermit Gosnell.  IOwntheWorld.com has suggested that Democrats can insure victory with a dream ticket of Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama.  That combo would serve to alleviate both male and white guilt although this possibly-photo shopped pic of Hillary/Michelle could turn off sensitive voters.

As in all imperfect worlds, glitches tend to pop up during the quest for unachievable perfection.  One such glitch is Sydney, Australia residient who goes by the name Norrie, a born-male, re-gendered female, who now considers him-her-itself “gender neutral.”  The Australian High Court backed his-her-its case for gender neutrality recognition.  Following a slew of appeals, Norrie was awarded gender neutral status in a unanimous judgment High Court judgment last week, unequivocably verifying that Aussie judges are as nutty as our own esteemed jurists.

America’s borders are a sick joke and the people assigned to protect and defend them are suffering the consequences of that joke.  Not only do Border Patrol agents face the daunting task of protecting and defending the demarcation boundaries that define any nation but they get little or no support from our government which even discourages them from protecting and defending themselves.  The American Civil Liberties Union and their liberal-leftist allies actually campaign against their right to use force when responding to attacks launched by illegal, invading  aliens despite the facts the attacks with sometimes huge rocks often inflict significant injuries on Border Patrol agents.

In the Cairo suburb of Ain Shans, 25 year old Coptic Christian woman, Mary Sameh George, was dragged from her car, beaten, and stabbed to death by a Muslim Brotherhood mob for committing the heinous sin of hanging a Christian cross from her rear-view mirror, proving once again that it’s not nice to disagree with Barack HUSSEIN Obama’s Islamic buddies when the Religion of Peace is offended by symbols of any other religion.  The murder followed mosque prayer services where Muslims may have prayed to Allah for the opportunity to climb onto a Christian’s car, drag out a young woman, beat, maul her, literally tear off parts of her scalp, repeatedly stab her, then slit her throat and, in his bountiful generosity, good, old Allah granted their every wish.

It’s no secret that President Barack Hussein Obama is a United Nations’ globalist and not a patriotic nationalist.  He has said that our country is no more exceptional than France or England or Germany–or Burundi or Algeria or Myanmar, for that matter–since a claim of national exceptionalism would smack of elitism, superiority, and arrogance.
Obama is well known for his personal senses of elitism, superiority, and arrogance but he viscerally abhors any perceptions that America should share those traits.

So, to accomplish his goals of equality, he and his henchmen created the Common Core State Standards Initiative with the complicity of the National Governors Association and the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) in order to dumb-down American education and level the educational playing field with those Burundians, et al.

That, of course, is a contentious allegation.  However, as shown in previous posts in this series, there can be little doubt the Obama administration has been the guiding force behind the educational abomination known as the Common Core.

As with any other radical, revolutionary movement, (pre-Communist Czarist Russia and pre-Nazi Germany in the last century), intimidation of opponents is a requisite to shutting them up.

Twenty-year Missouri kindergarten teacher Susan Kimball represents a case in point: a veteran teacher bullied by her bosses.  And here I foolishly thought bullying was unacceptable in schools!

Unlike countless others, Ms. Kimball refused to be bullied.  She bravely testified before the Missouri Senate Education Committee in support of a bill that prohibited implementation of Common Core State Standards in Missouri’s public schools.  She swore under oath that she and other teachers have been intimidated ever since  they began voicing opposition to the Rotten Core.

As she testified, “I have been strongly discouraged from saying anything negative about Common Core by my administration and some School Board members.”

Ms. Kimball added the chilling note that, “In a professional development meeting, um, in-service in November, and at a faculty meeting in January, we were told in my building, and I quote, ‘Be careful about what you post on Facebook, or talk about in the public regarding Common Core. Don’t say anything negative. It could affect your job.”

On the bright side, at least she wasn’t threatened, so far, with consignment to a gulag or a gas chamber for her intransigence.

On the dark side, a leaked email from the deputy executive director of the aforementioned CCSSO, a “non-profit” corporation that owns copyrights to the Common Core standards, indicates the CCSSO is trying to mobilize Common Core supporters . . .
