The Remarkable Rise of Young Blue Eyes, Ronan Farrow

 

His mother, Mia Farrow, says she doesn’t know whether ’ol blue eyes, Frank Sinatra, or ol’ perv eyes, Woody Allen, impregnated her and Allen thinks “he does look a lot like” Sinatra but the paternity of Satchel Ronan O’Sullivan Farrow, now Ronan Farrow, is obviously irrelevant to his bewildering rise to stardom on MSNBC.

Touted as a veritable reincarnation of Walter Cronkite after being given the “Cronkite Award for Excellence in Exploration and Journalism” after just three days on that low-rated cable network, the twenty six year old Farrow was named to Vanity Fair’s international best-dressed list in December, described as a “reluctant” television star by the New York Times, and as a “humblebrager,” a prideful individual hiding behind a self-deprecating veneer, by PopWatch.
Ronan Farrow certainly has reason to be proud and not self-deprecating. 

He sports a résumé that would be the envy of Chris Matthews or any other  MSNBC personality.

A condensed list of Farrow’s amazing achievements over the course of his 26 years: Bard College grad at 11; Yale Law School at 18; liaison and speech writer for his late mentor Richard Holbrooke; special adviser to Secetary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton; UNICEF Spokesperson for Youth; active fundraiser for the United Nations; advocate for Darfuri refugees; Special Adviser for Humanitarian and Non-Governmental Affairs in the Office of the Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan; Special Adviser for Global Youth Issues; and Director of the State Department’s Office of Global Youth Issues.

On top of all that, Farrow managed to attend Oxford University for a while to study international relations on a Rhodes Scholarship and was included in New York magazine’s list of  people ”on the verge of changing their worlds” even before he could legally buy adult beverages.

Either Mr. Young Blue Eyes is the most outstanding prodigy to arrive on the world scene since Albert Einstein, Bill Gates, and Barack Obama or he’s the best-connected boy-genius in television history.

A big favorite among the Big Apple’s liberal-leftist A-list, Farrow impressed MSNBC president Phil Griffin from the get-go.  Griffin gushed, “Within 20 minutes [of meeting him] I wanted to hire him.  He’s got it.” And now Farrow’s “got it,” namely an MSNBC contract reportedly in the millions.

Great News from TV-Land!

Great News from TV-Land!

 

Some great news has recently emanated from TV-Land!  No, not from the basic cable channel TV Land but rather from the left-wing CNN and the extreme left-wing MSNBC.

CNN and MSNBC and their rapidly-dwindling audiences are finally rid of two of their respective losers, 48 year old Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan and MSNBC’s worse loser, 55 year old Alexander Rae “Alec” Baldwin III. 

Coming on the heels of the departure of 51 year old Martin Bashir from MSNBC last year, it’s great news from TV-Land even if their replacements will probably be as bad, as liberal-leftist, and as nasty as Morgan, Baldwin, and Bashir.

Poor, rejected, dejected Alec is the most recent departee after he was fired in part because his “Up Late with Alec Baldwin” was an abysmal flop but mainly because the much-acclaimed actor had once again violated MSNBC’s cardinal rule of never speaking ill of homosexuals by calling a photographer a “c*ck sucking fag.”

Following his firing, which he attributed mainly to sniping by the station’s proudest resident lesbian, Rachel Maddow, who considered him “equivalent to Mel Gibson,” the petulant Baldwin has decided not only to forever remove himself from television but from New York City and from public life.

In an extended complaint on New York Magazine‘s Vulture blog, Baldwin vented that being labeled a “homophobic bigot” in the media after he was the caught being a homophobic bigot, he announced he was headed for Lala Land since Los Angeles “is a place where you live behind a gate, you get in a car, your interaction with the public is minimal.” 

No doubt stomping his foot as he wrote it, he added, “This is the last time I’m going to talk about my personal life in an American publication ever again.”

So there!

Should Alec Baldwin choose to become a hermit for the remainder of his days, he won’t be missed any more than Martin Bashir or Piers Morgan.  Both of those foreigners have repeatedly showed their contempt for America and Americans over the course of their brief tenures then seemed dismayed that we didn’t much like either them or their shows.

Bashir, the surly, British-born Pakistani and former BBC reporter, showed that biased contempt when he tossed GOP strategist Trey Hardin off his show simply because Hardin had said that our military leaders are critical of President Barack Hussein Obama, which they were and are.  He also actually suggested that the murder of a black Brit teenager in 1993 was somehow related to alleged offensive comments by Republican presidential candidates in 2012!

Melissa Harris-Perry who clearly has more Caucasian dna in her genetic makeup than Mariah Carey or Beyonce’ has a nasty habit of letting her racist views intentionally and unintentionally creep into her “news” commentary on MSNBC.

For those and for her latest exhibition of black racism, she should be sent packing.

Long recognized as a racist by objective observers, the thirty seven year old Harris-Perry has caught quite a bit of well-deserved flak for ridiculing the family of former Massachusetts Governor and 2012 GOP nominee for president Mitt Romney solely because his son and daughter-in-law adopted an African-American child.

Specifically, on her program last Sunday, MH-P featured a Romney family photo which included the newest member of the clan, Kieran Romney, the adopted African-American baby son of Ben and Andee Romney, seated front and center on Grandpa Mitt’s lap.

Any rational individual would have regarded the picture as simply one showing a wholesome, happy group.  However, MH-P irrationally seized the opportunity to steer her guests on the eponymous “Melissa Harris-Perry” show toward shamefully mocking the photo, the Romney family, and therefore little Kieran himself.

To black supremacists like Harris-Perry, curiously a product of a diverse Mormon family, such adoptions must apparently pollute pure, black blood and are probably perceived as worse than black rapists attacking and impregnating innocent white girls.

Black actress panelist Pia Glenn launched into parody: “One of these things [the thing being Kieran] is not like the others, one of these things just isn’t the same.”  Arab-American comedian Dean Obeidallah followed by sarcastically joking, “I think this picture is great. It really sums up the diversity of the Republican party, the RNC. At the convention, they find the one black person” (i.e., as a showpiece.)

Harris-Perry then added her own witticism when she laughingly speculated on a future marriage between Romney’s grandson and Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s mixed-race daughter, North West.

For his part, Romney graciously forgave MH-P the day after her apology saying to Fox News’ Chris Wallace, “Let me first note, Chris, we love this little guy a great deal.  He was an answer to prayer, and we love that he is a part of our family. He is a part of our family.  That being said, I recognize that people make mistakes and the folks at MSNBC made a big mistake. They’ve apologized for it. That’s all can you ask for.”

The Downfall of Alec Baldwin?

 

Most people have heard of Shakespeare’s famous and perceptive quotation about people that, “some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them.”  Few people have heard of his less famous observation about people that, “some are born lucky, some make their own luck and some get away with atrocious behavior because they must know people in high places who let them get away with that conduct,” mainly since The Bard never wrote that.

Obviously.
Still–with apologies to Shakespeare–the latter non-quote fits the 55 year old arch liberal-leftist actor, Obama supporter, frustrated politician, and animal rights activist Alexander Rae Baldwin, better known as Alec Baldwin, to a perfect T. 
Baldwin has boldly and disgracefully gone where few if any Hollywood types have ever dared to go before, from hysterically screaming at his then-11 year old daughter Ireland, calling her “a rude, thoughtless, little pig” and threatening to “straighten [her] ass out,” to being tossed from an American Airlines flight after he became rudely belligerent, to dropping his pants on the Dave Letterman show. 
And those were only his familial and social explosions. 
When it comes to Baldwin’s wildly intemperate politically-related observations, he has notably and publicly said, “If we were in another country we  . . . would stone [conservative Republican congressman] Henry Hyde to death and we would go to their homes and kill their wives and their children. We would kill their families, for what they’re doing to this country.” 
He referred to former Vice President Dick Cheney as a terrorist, without providing any evidence that Cheney is anything other than a committed patriot.  
He characterized conservative commentator Sean Hannity as”a no-talent, ignorant fool,” “a cabin boy,” and “the Larry Flynt of talk radio, and compared Hannity’s behavior to “the stupidity that people often refer to when they think of George W. Bush and Sarah Palin.” 
He demeaned the late conservative publisher and commentator Andrew Breitbart as a “festering boil on the anus of public discourse.”
Nevertheless, despite all Baldwin’s exhibitions of classlessness and boorishness, despite his veiled threats and political slanders, despite his execrable gutter language, he retained his enviable status as Hollywood’s and TV land’s and Capital One Bank’s fair-haired-now-grey-haired boy.  The fact his admirers could overlook his many character flaws and nasty foibles is not surprising, however.  Aside from his vicious verbal attacks on a young child, maybe, his Tinseltown and television buddies probably approve heartily everything he has said and done.
Why Capital One, my own bank, keeps him on as a spokesman, though, is a mystery. 
A more profound mystery is why Baldwin has escaped censure and condemnation for his repeated homophobic eruptions, dating back years.  If Alec has been mercilessly savage with regard to gays, which he has been, the homosexual community has been equally ruthless in recent years in retaliating against any and all perceived offenders and offenses, reasonable or not. . . .
