The Zach and Barry (6-Minute) Comedy Hour

The Zach and Barry (6-Minute) Comedy Hour

President Barack Hussein Obama would be the last to deny he’s infatuated with all things Hollywood and sometimes seems to be auditioning for a role in a comedy flick.  In fact, many people believe he’s entertaining and often as laughable as Vice President Joseph Robinette Biden, especially when Barry commits one of his many alleged gaffes and bloopers.
They must be intentionally idiotic remarks since they’re so dumb they make Joe look like a Rhodes Scholar and they couldn’t possibly have been true gaffes and bloopers allegedly uttered by a noted constitutional scholar!

After all, maybe America really does have 57 or 58 states and maybe “corpse” is an alternate pronunciation of “corps” and maybe Special Olympics kids are as klutzy as Obama is at bowling, etc. etc. etc.

Barry has already tried his hand at stand-up comedy–during his rare press conferences in front of friendly audiences consisting predominantly of his avid fans among the White House Press Corps.

However, he really went Hollywood when he went toe-to-toe in a sit-down skit with comedian Zach Galifianakis on Galifianakis’ Web show “Between Two Ferns” on the website Funny or Die in which Galifianakis asks celebs uncomfortable questions hoping his they will say something funny.

Well, the president of the United States didn’t disappoint in his Bud Abbott-like straight man role opposite Galifianakis’ Lou Costello.  He was indeed funny but not in the usual sense of the word.  He was funny as in odd and incongruous considering he holds the disputable position as Leader of the Free World and here he was trying to pull off a comedy sketch that, as per most accounts, flopped Big Time.

As ShowBiz411.com observed, . . . (Read more at http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=36274.)

Numbers, Lists, and Lies: Abortion, Obama, Gays, Global Somethinging

Numbers, Lists, and Lies: Abortion, Obama, Gays, Global Somethinging

The following are excerpts from articles that don’t typically make the liberal evening news or the leftist cable news.

They relate to abortion stats, to Barack Hussein Obama and his crumbling legacy of Obamacare, to the true number of homosexuals in America, and to the proven scam of global cooling/global warming/climate change, all of which liberal-leftists would rather you not know anything about. . . . "I Can't Believe We Made It!"

"I Can't Believe We Made It!"

As we seniors, we seasoned citizens, we ‘ol folk, we old farts prepare for our “end of life consultations,” you know, those Obamacare-required late-life, chitchats with our physicians and/or government bureaucrats who will determine whether we deserve to live or die, (Don’t call them death panels!), it’s good to reflect that we’ve had a pretty good run.

At least that’s the premise behind Vimeo.com’s video titled, “I Can’t Believe We Made It.”
Introduced by the statement, “If you grew up in the 1950′s through the 1980′s this is a tribute to you making it to adulthood,” the video begins with pictures of a bunch of happy swingers, not the modern version of that term but kids enjoying swings in a park, biking, swimming, ball playing, even fighting.

We cavorted sans benefit of helmets or parental overseers and without fearing sugary drinks, fattening foods, the Great Outdoors, or falling out of trees and breaking an arm or leg.

We didn’t blame or sue someone if we did get hurt and grudgingly accepted the unfortunate facts of life that some of us weren’t as athletic or as smart or as lucky as others.

We weren’t immune from all fears, however. . .  (Read more at http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=35168.)

"Top 10's" You Have Missed

"Top 10's" You May Missed

It's now almost two weeks into 2014 and we’ve all had enough of what someone thinks were the top ten somethings either of 2013 or of something else.

However, here are some “Top 10′s” and plain old “tops” you may have missed beginning with the only-somewhat exaggerated views of the writers on the “Late Show with Dave Letterman” regarding Obamacare followed by a more serious “Ten People, Groups, and Countries Thrown Under Obama’s Bus in 2013,” “The Dumbest Criminals of 2013,” and the “Top 10 Media Hate-Crime Hoaxes of 2013.”

“Top Ten Indicators Your Employer Has Changed To The Obamacare Health Care Plan”

(10) Your annual breast exam is done at Hooters.
(9) Directions to your doctor’s office include “Take a left when you enter the trailer park.”
(8) The tongue depressors taste faintly of Fudgesicles.
(7) The only proctologist in the plan is “Gus” from Roto-Rooter.
(6) The only item listed under Preventative Care Coverage is “an apple a day.”
(5) Your primary care physician is wearing the pants you gave to Goodwill last month.
(4) “The patient is responsible for 200% of out-of-network charges,” is not a typographical error.
(3) The only expense covered 100% is…”Embalming.”
(2) Your Prozac comes in different colors with little M’s on them.
(1) You ask for Viagra and they give you a Popsicle stick and duct tape.

“Ten People, Groups, and Countries Thrown Under Obama’s Bus in 2013.”  Breitbart.com’s Kerry Pickett had a challenging task narrowing that list to a mere ten but nails it with Obama blaming the Secret Service for cancelling White House tours in March, screwing Egypt’s President Morsi and America in July, and blocking access to the Veterans Memorial during the government shutdown in October.

Bad News

Bad News

It’s an unfortunate fact of contemporary life that bad news occurs far more frequently and with much intensity than good.  Unfortunately, too, we have to live with that news.
BAD NEWS
Chief among the bad news in the news includes the obvious, the continuing war in Afghanistan, the utter disaster that is Obamacare, and the spreading evil of the “knockout game” and black crime in general.
—Based on Associated Press figures, since Barack Hussein Obama took office and promised to end both the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, through the end of November, 2013, some 1,595 soldiers or nearly 75% of the total of 2,153 have died in Afghanistan, Obama’s “necessary war,” and Iraq is still awash in bombings and chaos; almost worse: No administration officials seem to know the death count.
—Recent revelations that some of the most prestigious cancer treatment hospitals in the country (New York’s Memorial Sloan Kettering, the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance for kids, and California’s Cedars-Sinai will participate in any Obamacare exchange scheme and few networks include Rochester, Minnesota’s Mayo Clinic; the reason: cost-cutting.
—Andrew Bullock, a black 18 year old, admitted to exposing his genitals and brutally raping a 70 year old white nun behind St. Titus Church in Aliquippa near Pittsburgh and on New York City’s Rikers Island jail, a 22 year old female corrections officer was blindsided and severely injured by a prisoner in what C.O. union V.P. Liz Castro described as an extension of the knockout game to jails; . . . (Read more at http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=34639.)

Hobby Lobby Believes in God over Profits

Hobby Lobby Believes in God over Profits

(The following letter written by David Green, founder and CEO of the crafts chain Hobby Lobby, outlining the company’s legal struggles–just one of 63 nationwide–against the federal government’s unconstitutional attempts to run roughshod over religious freedom in America is more than a year old but remains an open case.  It is published here, with a few bracketed clarifications, to alert the American people to the true issues involved and since, as Green observes, President Barack Hussein Obama’s mainstream media won’t publicize his views.
The letter originally appeared as an op-ed piece in USA Today and since then U.S. District Judge Joe Heaton issued a preliminary injunction for Hobby Lobby and its sister company, the Mardel Christian bookstore chain, and granted the case a temporary stay; it may still end up in the Supreme Court.

Should the government prevail, Mr. Green indicates he would have no other choices but to close all of Hobby Lobby’s 556 stores in 45 states employing almost 23,000 people or effectively submit to demands he and his family abandon their Christian moral beliefs.)

The Letter:

When my family and I started our company 40 years ago, we were working out of a garage on a $600 bank loan, assembling miniature picture frames.  Our first retail store wasn’t much bigger than most people’s living rooms, but we had faith that we would succeed if we lived and worked according to God’s word.

From there, Hobby Lobby has become one of the nation’s largest arts and crafts retailers, with more than 500 locations in 41 states. Our children grew up into fine business leaders, and today we run Hobby Lobby together, as a family.

We’re Christians, and we run our business on Christian principles. I’ve always said that the first two goals of our business are (1) to run our business in harmony with God’s laws, and (2) to focus on people more than money And that’s what we’ve tried to do. We close early so our employees can see their families at night. We keep our stores closed on Sundays, one of the week’s biggest shopping days, so that our workers and their families can enjoy a day of rest.

We believe that it is by God’s grace that Hobby Lobby has endured, and he has blessed us and our employees. We’ve not only added jobs in a weak economy, we’ve raised wages for the past four years in a row. Our full-time employees start at 80% above minimum wage.
But now, our government threatens to change all of that. . . (Read more at http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=34561.)

Lies, Damned Lies, and Obama Lies

In Samuel Langhorne Clemens’/Mark Twain’s “Chapters from My Autobiography,” the author of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn quoted Benjamin Disraeli’s memorable observation that “There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.” Were Mark Twain alive today, he might have appended, “and outrageous lies used to cover up previous outrageous lies.”
America’s well-established Liar-in-Chief, President Barack Hussein Obama, has now outdone his habit of deceitful prevarication with his baldfaced fabrication that he never, ever, ever, promised that, “If you like your health-care plan, you will be able to keep your health-care plan, period,” despite the fact he has been captured on video on at least 29 occasions telling Americans they could do just that and thereby avoid being assigned to an Obamacare-approved health plan and physician.
In a classic instance of cynically dishonest revisionism, delivered to what Rush Limbaugh describes as low-information voters on Monday at the St. Regis hotel in Washington, Obama tried to rectify that widespread, oft-videotaped misperception by announcing, “What we said was you could keep [your health plan] if it hasn’t changed since the law was passed.”
A less-dignified observer than I would characterize that sheer bullshit as sheer bullshit.
Our Liar-in-Chief explained the exception–his gross lie–to his enthusiastic supporters (and just coincidentally Obamacare beneficiaries) by declaring, “If we had allowed these old plans [to continue] . . . then we would have broken  an even more important promise–making sure that Americans gain access to  health care that doesn’t leave them one illness away from financial ruin.  So the bottom line is, is that we are making the insurance market better for  everybody.”
“Better” may be a matter of interpretation but few people who are forced into a government-operated health plan, forced out of a medical plan they may have had and liked for years, and forced to hunt for a new, Obamacare-approved doctor when they had long trusted and relied on their former physician(s) will consider themselves anything but better off. . .
